Based in Central Scotland, Gail MacLean has been an executry paralegal in Scotland for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience in dealing with estate administration and obtaining Confirmation.
In 2009, she gained her Specialist Paralegal qualification in Wills, Trusts & Executries from Strathclyde University and in 2012 became a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners after gaining her STEP* diploma in Trusts & Estates.
AGC Legal is a small business established by Gail in January 2015 to provide high-quality executry paralegal services to the legal community – primarily in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife, Perthshire and Kinross-shire. Our prompt, reliable and efficient freelance paralegal service will be tailored to your law firm’s individual needs.
Being a freelance paralegal, Gail offers a service that is both flexible and comprehensive, with a discounted rate available for regular clients and for specific long-term contracts. The benefits of using freelance administrative support are manifest.
Firstly, there’s no payroll, no auto-enrolment and no holiday pay. Secondly, enlisting freelance support is an ideal way to cover maternity leave, long-term sickness absence or simply just to administer estates if you don’t like doing them yourself!
Sub-contracting the fiddly, time-consuming administration elements of obtaining Confirmation and winding up an estate to AGC Legal also has the benefit of freeing up your professional time for more remunerative legal work.
Whilst in our possession, any hard copy of your data will be held in a locked cabinet. No one but Gail has access to these locked cabinets unless in an emergency situation. Any digital data will be held on her computer, which has full McAfee LiveSafe Internet Security.
The data will only be held for the purposes for which it is required in connection with work being carried out for you and will not be passed on to anyone else. It will only be retained by Gail for the duration of the work she is carrying out for your company.
After completion of the case, any documents such as Death Certificates, original wills or Powers of Attorney, etc. will be returned to you. The files which we have for each case will be retained in confidential storage for seven years, after which they will be destroyed.
